Confirmation is a sacrament of Christian commitment and a
deepening of baptismal gifts. It is one of the three Sacraments
of Initiation. Some Catholics received the first two sacraments,
Baptism and Eucharist; however, for one reason or another,
they did not receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
If you are one of those Catholics and would like the opportunity
to now be confirmed and you are 18 years or older, St.
Clare is offering Adult Confirmation sessions to prepare you
for this sacrament. The sessions begin on Saturday, January 7
at 4:00 p.m. in the La Salle Room and will continue for twelve
sessions. If you are interested in
registering for these sessions or would like more information,
please contact Rita Schillin at 872-4700.

Below is a list of perishable items needed for our Annual St. Clare’s Thanksgiving Food Drive. Any thing you can do to help make this a success is greatly appreciated.

  • Both of the food closets that St. Clare assists have again requested  Peanut Butter, Macaroni and Cheese, Tuna, Top Ramen Soups, Cup O Noodles and Pork and Beans. We also need more rain ponchos, socks and shoes for both men and women in all sizes. Please help and drop these items off at the Treasure Chest in the Narthex or call Karl Thompson at 543-9047 if you have large quantities.

  • The North Highlands Christian Food Ministry is still looking for two volunteers to pick up and deliver food on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month at 9:00 a.m. Please call Karl Thompson a if you can help. We also are looking for commercial freezer space to store frozen turkeys. Thank you for your generosity in assisting us to meet these urgent requests for assistance.

We have been able to solicit and receive a FREE storage unit to handle all of our donations. Each Monday we will need to secure assistance to have SUVs, trucks or trailers to take the food and clothing collected to the storage facility.

If you are doing fall cleaning, we are collecting warm clothes and coats along with hats and mittens/gloves for children and adults. Please call Karl at 543-9047 to arrange a meeting time at Church.

WE NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE!

1. This year we will be establishing a Food Drive for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. We are in desperate need of non-perishable food items and cash donations. We also need toys and games for children of all ages. If any parishioner knows of a business or organization that would like to assist the Social Concerns Committee during the Holidays, please contact Karl Thompson so he or a member of the committee can follow-up.

2. We want to reach out to our entire community. If you know anyone that has lost their job or home and is in need of assistance, please let us know or have them contact Karl at 543-9047. As the Holidays get closer, we need to establish our list of recipients as soon as possible.

3. We need additional volunteers to assist us in soliciting donors, packing food boxes, delivering boxes and wrapping Christmas presents.

We ask you to continue to pray for the success of the Social Concerns Committee and its related ministries. Please join us in our Outreach Ministry.
